RIMMF: Version 1

To download: Link to the standard installer

Version: 1.0.1.318

Installation Steps

  1. Download the standard installer to your computer:
  2. When the download completes, find and double-click on the file 'setupRimmf1.exe'
  3. Respond to the prompts in the installation dialog

Alternate installer

If the standard installer does not meet your needs, there is also a zipfile of the installation. In this case, you will have to perform some of the installation steps manually.

To download: Link to the zip installation

Zipfile steps

  1. Copy the zipfile (setupRimmf1.zip) to your My Documents folder
  2. Unzip contents in-place (ie. right-click zip and select 'Extract here'). This should place the .exe and the support folder in My Documents.
  3. Right-click on the .exe and select 'Send to desktop' (to make a shortcut for starting the program)

Optionally, in step #1, you may copy the zipfile to any other folder where you have permissions (such as a flash card, usb drive, etc.)

Optionally, before step #3 above, you may move the .exe to another folder.

The program looks for the 'RIMMF' folder in your My Documents folder when it starts. If it does not find it there, it looks for it in its own folder (i.e., wherever you place 'rimmf.exe'). If it does not find a 'RIMMF' folder there either, you are out of luck.

Thus, do not install 'rimmf.exe' in one folder, and the 'RIMMF' support folder in any other folder but the .exe folder or 'My Documents'.

Installation Notes

The RIMMF install layout is as follows:

One .exe named 'rimmf.exe' (default location: C:\Program Files\TMQ\RIMMF\ )

One support folder named 'RIMMF' (default location: My Documents).
This support folder contains five sub-folders:

  1. data (record storage),
  2. element sets (one for each entity),
  3. rimmfdata (tables),
  4. templates (record templates), and
  5. vocabs (vocabulary terms)

RIMMF will not use the windows system registry. Option settings are saved in an .ini file in the support folder.
