PLP Primary keys: SYSID

035: Control number of a system other than the one whose control number is contained in field 001.
LC Documentation

This match key allows you to match records using a library's control number.

Field extraction

The data extracted for this key is determined by a special option. See 'SYSID PREFIX' below.

Field matching

[TO DO]

SYSID Prefix

When the SYSID match key is added to a config, the following option form is displayed:

As many records have several 035 fields, we use the PREFIX option to tell PLP which 035 fields to extract. Enter the library prefix1) used in the 035 field of the records you want to match.

The prefix should be entered as it appears in the data, and not as it appears in a normalized index. For example, enter:

(nzNZBN)

not:

NZNZBN

PLP will handle normalization when the query is prepared.

If, on the other hand, you do not want to restrict matching by a prefix, enter '0' in the prefix box. This will cause PLP to query all 035 fields in the record, regardless of their prefix.

Notes

Any 035 that lacks a prefix will be ignored by this match key.

OCLC numbers (any 035 field with a prefix of '(OcoLC)') are always ignored by this match key.

To change the setting for the prefix once the SYSID key has been added to a config, click on the 'SYSID PREFIX' button beneath the Primary Keys List (Note that the SYSID key must be selected in the Primary Keys List before this button will display):
