If you are having repeated problems with an installation, try the steps in the 'Troubleshooting' section, below, first.
1. Use Windows to uninstall MARC Report
Note: If you do not have Admin privileges on your computer, you will not be able to uninstall or install the program. Logout and login as a user with Admin privileges, or find someone to do this for you.

The name of the binary file is
marcreport.exe
Use the windows search tool and make sure no files with this name are on your machine. If there are (after step 2), then track them down, and delete them.
3. Delete all copies of the user preference file
Use the windows search tool and look for;
marcreport.ini
There may be a few copies of this file on your machine. Its important to delete them all 1).

Download the software: Download MARC Report
When you proceed with the download, a message like one the following will pop up, depending on your browser:
or
If you have the option, select 'Save As' and save the file to your Desktop. Else just select 'Save'.
When the download completes, find the downloaded file and double-click on it.
This will begin the installation.
During installation, you will be prompted for a destination location, as follows:
Do not allow the program to be installed in the x64 directory (C:\Program Files\); it will not work properly if installed there.
The recommended location is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\TMQ\MARC Report
regardless of the Windows version in use.
The installation should not take more than a minute or two.
When the installation is complete:
"c:\program files\tmq\marc report\marcreport.exe" --forcenewversion
The most frequent cause of installation problems is the copying files from one computer to another. The quickest way to attempt to fix this, if the program will start, is to select 'Reset all options' from the main menu under 'Options'.
1. If instead, the program starts but pops up an error message and then closes, follow the steps on this page:
Reset options using the 'Run' command'
2. If you are having repeated problems re-installing, there may be a setting in the registry that is fouling up the re-install attempt.
To solve this problem, download and run the following utility:
registryCleaner (200K)
This utility deletes all user registry keys for MARC Report and MARC Global.
Be sure to run the utility as the windows user that will use the program.
3. Be sure the program isn't installed in
C:\Program Files\TMQ\MARC Report
This is the x64 directory on windows and our software will not run correctly if it is installed there.
It must instead be installed in
C:\Program Files (x86)\TMQ\MARC Report
Notes
If you are installing the program on multiple computers, and/or are using an automated package to install the program, you may find this list of installer command-line switches useful.
MARC Report also supports a few command-line options. They are documented here, but the end-user should use them only under the direction of TMQ.
