Permalink record format and F4

Sometime after the release of version 232, LC upgraded its system(s) so that permalink records could be returned using the UTF-8 character encoding (Leader/09='a').

Prior to this, permalink records were only available to download using the MARC-8 encoding.

Therefore, in version 233, if you press F4 to fetch a permalink record, and then Import it into your edit session, the imported record will be in UTF-8.

At this point, there is no option on the F4 screen to import these records as MARC-8. Please let us know if this would be useful.
