Moving MARC Report to a New Computer

 

I just got a new computer and …

 

When you get a new computer, there a few steps you will need to follow to get MARC Report up and running. Some of these steps may require access to your old computer; however, any files required will easily fit on a floppy disk.

 

• Find your registration email.  While you still have access to your old system, find the email that we sent you--with the subject 'MARC Report registration' and save it as a textfile (.TXT) to a floppy disk.  If you cannot find your registration information, email us and we will email it back to you right away.

 

• Save your options. If you have customized the program to any degree, you should read the Help page on moving your options from one computer to another.   If not, skip this step.

 

• Download MARC Report to your new computer.  Click  ‘Download’ in the frame on the left, follow the instructions for downloading MARC Report, then install it on your new system.   NOTE: Do not simply copy your ‘MARC Report’ folder from your old computer to your new one!

 

• Register.  When you start the program for the first time on your new computer, it will say that you are running a Trial version. Do not be alarmed! Select Help from the Main Menu, then click Register--and register the program with the registration information from step 1 above.

 

• Copy your options. If you have any option files from your old system that you want to re-install, copy them to the Options folder on your new computer  now.  If not, skip this step.

 

• Remove MARC Report from your old computer. Use the Windows Add/Remove Programs wizard (in the Control Panel) to remove MARC Report from your old computer. This step is required by our license agreement.
